Central Coast Grammar requires a study, recreation facility, computer lab and exam room in one flexible building.
Ausco Modular designed, built and installed a new 288 square metre modular study and recreation facility for Central Coast Grammar School. A primary and secondary college with a growing student population, it was important to create a large but flexible space.
Ausco Modular’s design team worked closely with the school to understand its requirements. The school’s need was for a large, but multi-purpose space that could be used as a recreation room, study room, computer lab and exam room as required.
By opting for a modular building, Ausco Modular provided an affordable permanent solution to the school. Construction was fast and flexible and there was significantly less interruption to the school’s routine compared to conventional construction methods.
The external finishes of the building have the look and feel of a permanent structure. From the veranda to the external wall design, it incorporates use of Zincalume as a feature. The Zincalume horizontally wraps the middle of the buildings perimeter creating a banding effect on the wall. The polished wooden veranda offers a durable but warm feature which compliments the natural landscape.
The interior of the building features modern finishes, durable carpets, coloured feature walls, air conditioning systems and comfortable down lighting. A kitchenette and breakout areas were also incorporated into the design to maximise flexibility.
All these features combine to create a comfortable and stimulating learning environment for students and teaching staff.
Modular construction fast tracked the building and resulted in less interruption to the school’s routine.
