Ausco Modular is pleased to announce that their Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) has been endorsed by Reconciliation Australia.
The RAP was developed to help foster a culture of respect and awareness of the heritage of the Traditional Owners of the land upon which Ausco work. Ausco is now in a position to launch key initiatives which are aimed at providing education and awareness, as well as identifying employment opportunities to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This will position Ausco as a key business partner to clients and assist in securing future and ongoing work.
Ausco’s journey will begin with a number of key initiatives across the business in which teams are encouraged to be involved in. These will include:
- Cultural awareness and education training;
- Opportunities to attend key days of significance and associated events;
- Welcome and Acknowledgement of Country events for site offices; and
- Engaging with key suppliers and providers within the various communities.
Anthony Walsh, Ausco’s Managing Director, is proud to be leading the journey and hopes that everyone involved gains personal benefit.
‘Whilst there are obvious business benefits, my vision is that the RAP not become just another business initiative, but rather a long-term cultural journey for us, both as a business and individually’, said Anthony.
Ausco’s Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan was implemented in June 2017 and will continue to form a core part of the company.
