Ausco Modular sees great opportunity in change
Today, Ausco Modular announced that TDR Capital has finalised the acquisition of 100% of the business from WACO International.
The acquisition of Australian Ausco Modular and New Zealand's Portacom Building Solutions signals an exciting opportunity for the modular construction companies, as they become a member of TDR Capital's global modular giant Algeco Scotsman.
As a new member of the world's largest modular building company, Ausco Modular is confident it will be able to invest more knowledge and resources into building its strong regional presence throughout Australia.
Ausco Modular currently has 10 manufacturing facilities across 5 locations and 15 hire branches catering for customers Australia wide. Ausco Modular has invested heavily in its regional facilities, increasing its sale, hire and Build-Own-Operate divisional capabilities to service the expected increase in demand across the mining and resource sector.
In addition to this announcement, Ausco Modular has also announced the appointment of Anthony Walsh to managing director.
Mr Walsh has been Ausco Modular's chief operating officer since April 2008 and has assisted the company's stellar growth and expansion, having originally joined Ausco in 2005 as financial director.
The appointment comes after the announcement that current managing director Paul Bailey is retiring.
"Ausco Modular has experienced exceptional growth under the direction of Paul Bailey," said new managing director Anthony Walsh.
"It is my goal to navigate Ausco Modular successfully through this transition period and to continue the business' growth with our excellent product innovation and service delivery."
"It's an exciting time for the business and we intend to use this change to increase our capabilities in Australia, to invest in our regional operations and continue to build Ausco Modular as one of Australia's largest and most innovative modular construction companies."
"It is going to be business as usual for Ausco Modular. Whilst our customers can expect an increase in potential opportunities in the future, right now we're focussed on our customer service and maintaining manufacturing excellence," said Mr Walsh.
Prior to joining Ausco Modular, Mr Walsh spent six years in financial management with the Waco Group in South Africa. He had previously spent a number of years with Deloitte and Touche as a management consultant.
Mr Walsh is a member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants, as well as an Australian Institute of Company Directors Graduate. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa, as well as a Bachelor in Baccalaureus Computationis (Honors) degree from the University of South Africa.
