Ausco Modular installs housing for regional families in need

Monday, 21 March, 2011

One of Australia’s largest off-site construction companies, Ausco Modular, together with the Western Australian Department of Housing, has supplied housing for the Pilbara indigenous community of Mingullatharndo Five Mile.

The community recently asked the government for assistance after five families found themselves without appropriate housing.

Hearing the cry for help, Ausco Modular offered the Department of Housing a donation of two fully en suited residential hire buildings.

“Although Ausco Modular offered to donate two of our existing hire buildings, the Department of Housing was committed to ensuring they provided a much improved living space for the five families,” said Western Australia regional manager James Rowdon.

“Department of Housing commissioned us to build and fit two new buildings with verandas and breezeways, as well as making provisions to allow the install of solar powered water and heat pumps.”

Ausco Modular’s flexible design allowed them to re-fit two brand new buildings for urgent installation.

“Our standard en suited buildings are already fit to an incredibly high-standard, so it took very little time to customise them to our client’s requests.”

“Ausco Modular believes that modular buildings are an ideal solution for remote communities such as these,” said Western Australia manager James Rowdon.

“Modular buildings can be built very quickly, constructed at an offsite location and to a very high specification.”

The new buildings have been installed to meet the Region D requirements, including provision of Cyclone Tie Down blocks, ensuring the long-term comfort of the five families in the Mingullatharndo community.
