Ausco Modular buildings ready to help bushfire victims

Ausco Modular, Australia’s largest modular builder is ready to help the victims of the Victorian bushfires with accommodation, classrooms, Police, Fire or State Emergency stations, and office buildings available for immediate installation.

Bushfire victims are looking for some security as they are forced to live with friends, family, in tents provided by the Australian Military, or far from where their old homes once stood. Modular buildings offer a more permanent and secure solution.

Ausco Modular’s Regional Manager for Victoria Chris Gunton said the company will prioritise any requests it receives from the Victorian Government to help replace vital infrastructure.

“We can mobilise our fleet of modular buildings within one week.

“Ausco Modular buildings will allow the bushfire victims to have their own personal space, use non-communal bathrooms, and sleep under a steady ceiling,” Mr Gunton said.

Ausco Modular has already sent four buildings to support the relief effort through the initial stages of recovery and has contacted the Department of Human Services (DHS) to indicate they’re prepared and ready to help.

The Bushfire Reconstruction and Recovery Authority, the DHS, and other agencies are from today holding a two-day planning exercise to find solutions to this housing situation.

With more than 1800 Victorian homes lost in the bushfires, any proposed housing solutions need to accommodate 7000 people.

Mr Gunton said Ausco Modular is well-positioned to be part of the solution.

“As well as having modular buildings available now, we can work with the Victorian Government to custom-design any buildings they require going forward.

“Ausco Modular buildings have the same look and feel of permanent construction, including high quality insulation for temperature control and sound-proofing, and measures to minimise energy consumption,” Mr Gunton said.
